Dear Praying Friends
Thank you for your faithful prayers. We were unable to move out of the Valley
for about one week! It took much longer to repair the road, but praise God, the
road eventually opened again on Thursday, 7 February at 2pm. A bridge was built
across the gap where the road had disintegrated. The rest of the road remains
in a bad shape with huge potholes and "suspect" bridges across rushing streams
and rivers. Quite a traveling experience!!
Karin, Michelle and Daniel left for Lusaka on Sunday, 10 Feb, to stock up on
much needed groceries and personal items! They plan to return to Longezia on
Thursday (14th)
Please praise the Lord with us for:
1. Funds that we have received towards the Flood Relief Operation. We stand
amazed at the generosity we have experienced. We pray a special blessing upon
each one who has given so generously. Thank you!
2. For the safe arrival of a new missionary couple from South Africa, Hugo &
Salomie du Toit. They arrived on Thursday, 7 Feb, about 2 hours AFTER the
bridge was opened for traffic:-) We are extremely grateful for their arrival
and we know they will fit right in with our MV Zambia Team.
3. Safe arrival of Elizabeth Ratliff who returned home today (Tuesday) after
furlough in England and the States.
4. For the many powerful prayers and proclamations we received concerning the
situation in the Valley! We are encouraged and uplifted. Thank you:-)
5. Herewith a Word Karin received about the present difficulties: God is
saying: "I am building My Kingdom in the Valley and nothing shall prevail
against it. I will show Myself as Faithful and True. As God Almighty. Out of
despair I will bring great joy. Out of devastation I will bring an abundant
harvest. This is for MY Glory". Hallelujah!!!
PRAYER REQUESTS:
1. Good prices as we buy look at buying groceries to make up "Food Relief
Parcels". These will contain non-perishable food that will enable a family of 6
- 8 people to "survive" for 1 month.
2. Theuns in England. He is visiting the MV Great Britain offices right now
and has quite a stiff itinerary ahead of him. He plans to fly to South Africa
on 25 February. We are both looking forward to being back together again!!!
3. Continued safety for us at the Mission Base. Protection against malaria and
cholera. Safety as we travel to and from the Base on "dodgy" roads!!!
4. For Mike Hawbaker as he flies to Lusaka on Thursday, 28 February. He will
hit the ground running as we need him to repair "the girls" Land Cruiser which
broke down over Christmas; makes a special trip to Lusaka with the big truck to
stock up on medicine, Baby Formula, Relief Food etc. In between he will also
continue work on the boat:-)
5. Continue to pray for Lonika (the newly converted witchdoctor). Her husband
is furious because they are now out of business and no longer making any money.
We love and appreciate each one of you!
Blessing in Christ
Theuns, Karin, Michelle and Daniel
