PRAISE REPORT
* Karin spent a wonderful week visiting Linda in Cape Town at the beginning of
April. She went without a "pre-set itinerary" OR the computer!! It was great
spending one-on-one time with Linda! We continue to give thanks to God for what
He has done (is doing!) for Linda and her family. She is making a steady
recovery. Praise the Lord.
* Fanwell is doing SO much better. He is responding well to the treatment he
is receiving! Thank you for praying for him.
MORE......GOOD NEWS!! GOOD NEWS!!!! GOOD NEWS!!!!
* We are thrilled to tell you that we will be Grandparents AGAIN....Eva will be
a BIG sister as Tam and Nathan expect their second baby on 4 November!!
* In the first week of January 2009, wedding bells will be ringing for MIKE &
STEPHANIE!!! They are officially engaged - much to our delight!!! They plan on
returning to Longezia shortly after the wedding to continue in the ministry God
has called to do in Zambia!!
* Our dear Tessa Sianchoko is marrying Ps Alfred Zulu (Joyful Bible Church) on
19 July!!! They will both join Harvest for Christ Ministries as full-time
workers. Please pray as they trust God for funds to cover all their wedding
costs.
* MV AFRICA CONFERENCE: MV Field Coordinators from Southern Africa convened for a 4 day "Africa Conference" in Pretoria recently. They enjoyed a time of
rich ministry, fellowship and rest.
* KOMENA CTC: 10 Third Year students, 14 Second Years and 13 brand new First
Year students arrived for the first session of classes for this year which ran
from 18 April - 5 May. We are receiving such fantastic testimonies from our
Komena students....the churches under the leadership of these students are
"exploding" both numerically and in the spiritual growth and maturity of the
members....all glory to God!!
Pray as we trust God for FUNDS to have a spectacular "GRADUATION CELEBRATION" for our Third Year Students at the end of September!!! This will mark a turning point in history as these Tonga men and woman (Tessa) become the FIRST, official "in-the-Valley-trained" church leaders who are impacting not only their own
tribe, but also others around them and in Zimbabwe!! Hallelujah!
* FLOOD RELIEF: We continue to thank God for funds received towards this
relief effort. Apart from the 20 food parcels we handed out, we were also able
to distribute shoes, clothing and mosquito nets to over 450 widows, orphans and
"vulnerable" people. Distribution took place through churches in 7 major
geographical areas in a radius of 45km around Sinazongwe. We combined some of
the "Distribution Days" with evangelism by a Short Term Outreach Team from
Umtata Baptist Church in South Africa. The Relief Effort has also given us
future opportunities to "earn the right to present the Gospel"!!
* MICHELLE: wrote her SAT exam on 3 May. She felt it went well. We're
waiting for her results which should be out in about 2 weeks time.
Meanwhile...she is making arrangements to leave Zambia on 7 June to work in the
UK for a year. Please pray for all of us as we are torn between the excitement
to see her go into a new venture and the pain of saying goodbye!!
* MERCY BOAT: The ENGINE has finally arrived in Zambia (imported from South
Africa through the "usual" long and painful process of bureaucratic red-tape!!)
The carpenter is busy with the decking....and, hopefully, the boat will be ready
to be "tested in the waters" in just a few weeks time!!!!

* 17 - 28 June: UK Medical Outreach Team who will be doing 4 "field clinics"
with Susan and Stephanie.
* 7 - 27 June: Komena CTC Pastor's Training - Ps Dewayne Ramsey & Patsy Hall
will be teaching some of the classes.
* 2 - 4 July: ACE Homeschool Convention for Daniel in Lusaka
* 11 - 20 July: Family time!!!!
* 26 July - 1 August: Visit by CARE NOW Foundation members
* 22 July - 11 August: Komena CTC Pastor's Training - Ps Luther & Sandy Meier
will be teaching some of the classes.
* 16 - 20 August: Charlene & TJ to visit us!!!!
* 26 - 31 August: MVZambia Retreat
* 2 - 19 September: Komena CTC Pastor's Training - Mike Hawbaker; Dave &
Connie Keatings to teach some of the classes.
* END OF SEPTEMBER/BEGINNING OCTOBER.... Graduation Celebration for Komena
Third Year students!!!!
Inbetween all of this:
* All the "regular" programs continue!!
* Completion of the Mercy Boat Project
* Building of new mission base at Mbole
* Development of the new Agricultural Project at Mbole
* Development of the new "NextGen" Project in Lusaka which will provide 10
Orphaned girls (from the Zambezi Valley) with an opportunity of a better high
school education and a safe boarding facility, under Christian supervision.
PLEASE PRAY FOR US FOR...
WISDOM; DISCERNMENT; PATIENCE; PERSEVERANCE; PHYSICAL & EMOTIONAL ENERGY; and
a continuing awareness and sense of God's direction and presence in our lives!!!
